I went to the Edgemoor and stayed overnight for my Sons Wedding. Oh my goodness, what a fabulous place! It has character, charm and everything you could want for a very special occasion. The staff are amazing and look after your every need with a smile. Watching my Son get married was made very special by the Hotel and it's Managers and Staff. Many, many thanks to you all x
Came here, to do hair styling for a Wedding taking place at the hotel. Beautiful location on the edge of Dartmoor, but not too far away from local towns. Peaceful and pretty. Stunning views and really friendly happy staff. The room was warm and spacious, with lovely decor . I didnt eat here , but I have heard from my own friends and Clients , that it is excellent.

Lovely breakfast at the restaurant. So close to Haytor rocks itself.
Enjoyed a great walking holiday on Dartmoor based at Moorland House in 2011; magnificent walks, great folk and super meals.

A great little find. Visited on our last night of our holiday and managed to snaffle the last of one of the food specials and I'm glad we did! Great honest food, perfect for all the family
We always enjoy the food here. Menu has changed since my last visit (and also the chef perhaps) and looks more mainstream in the sense of clarifying gluten free options which has become the norm in recent years. Still serving the usual good old pub grub and some more interesting dishes especially the tapas starters (we tried the squid and sticky bbq cajun beef which were both delicious). Also, if like us, you enjoy sweet potato fries I highly recommend ordering a side bowl of theirs! Staff as always very friendly and accommodating.

Good beer, good food reasonably priced (Oct 2017) Update 21/04/2018 New management now evident.....lunchtime meal for 4 (2 x pastie and chips, 1 panini, 1 mixed meat platter) was slow to arrive and only just adequate in quality. Reasonable prices though. Room for improvement.
Great new team running the place. Friendly atmosphere, warm and cosy thanks to a fire that's always crackling away. Good beers and decent food, dogs welcome if not encouraged!

Lovely friendly place. Staff are a credit and dog friendly too! We called in on the way back from a climbing morning and were welcomed in with a smile despite two kids and two dogs. Food excellent (not cheap). Couldn't fault it at all well worth a stop. Car park a little small and some work being done but excellent all the same.
Amazing. My new best breakfast place of all time in Devon right now!!! Their other offerings looked very tasty but I'm always swayed over to their yummy veggie breakfast offering. Well done on turning this place into a great and well delivered food outlet. Service was both friendly and accomodating by all involved. Just highly recommended for families, singles and pals as a great meeting place at the gates to the moors. Dog friendly and lovely warm fires at moment to make you feel toasty warm welcome!!

Good breakfast. Friendly staff. Clean room. A bit pricey I thought for the size of room. The decor was a little dated but we enjoyed our stay.
Stayed here with friends for a weekend walking on the moor. We were met with a friendly mix of warmth and hospitality from locals and staff alike. You will find a bar stocked with great local ales and an extensive menu that wont break the bank. Looking forward to coming back again next year.
Yarner House, Haytor Road, Bovey Tracey, Newton Abbot TQ13 9LN, UK – 01364 661503
We had a wonderful stay at Yarner House. The room (Silver Suite) was furnished to a very high standard and had a wonderful large Moroccan bath overlooking the window. The house is just inside Dartmoor with panoramic views for miles around and very close to walks, attractions (e.g. Becky Falls, Haytor Rocks) and great pubs/restaurants. Lily and her mum were perfect hosts and provided a delicious breakfast every morning. There is also a kitchen and lounge available for self-catering. Highly recommended for a relaxing break, and we would definitely return.
Beautiful old hunting lodge. Set in amazing surroundings. The owners are lovely. And the rooms are gorgeous.

If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!

A cosy, quaint place to stay, like stepping back in time. We had a fantastic week in the cottage and look forward to returning one day. The owners were warm and friendly and very helpful with lots of knowledge of the area (like walks, places to eat and visit etc) supplied. Loved all the little touches too like the food hamper on arrival. All in all a wonderful week! Thank you for the memories.
Great holiday cottage. Fantastic village. Super holiday

Great location directly on the moor. We stayed in The Hayloft, really well equipped and nicely set out. A lovely view from the dining table all the way to the sea on clear days. You can walk up to Haytor visitor centre within minutes, the rock, however, can take a little longer. Would throughly recommend and hope to return.

I wanted a simple quiet campsite where I could camp with my motorcycle and read a book by a camp fire. Five Wyches is exactly that. I went in August and there were other campers but plenty of space and no feeling of being crowded. Sarah was super friendly, helpful and full of great local advice. The town nearby has everything you need and I found the Cromwell Arms to be friendly and serve a good pint. I would highly recommend and will return. I would also recommend to families looking to escape suburban or city hustle and bustle.
A quiet secluded campsite off of the main road. A long drop toilet and a hot shower what more can you ask? The owner also supplies firepits and will supply logs on request. Magic site.
