We always have an amazing stay at Ilsington! And have been 3 times now and wouldn't go anywhere else. The spa facilities are really good, as well as general hotel facilities. Breakfast is really tasty and a wide range of food is available too. Highly recommend!
I came here for a working trip and the staff were excellent. Dinner til 9, desk til 11, breakfast at 0730 but they will make a packed lunch if you need to leave earlier. Comfy rooms, decent showers and flapjacks with the tea and coffee.

Lovely place to eat. Nice friendly, smiley and efficient staff. Fairly reasonably priced, but portions a bit on the small size compared to other places where we eat out locally. I'd say this was more gastro-pub than your usual pub food. The food however is excellent, its not always quantity over quality, if they made the portions a bit bigger it would be a 5* as the food was so good we were left wanting more... Overall highly recommended.
An amazing place, cannot recommend this highly enough. The staff are extremely polite, helpful and always on hand without being intrusive. The food is first class and comprises of local fare and the more exotic. Situated below Haytor, (to the rear of Haytor Vale). A treasure to visit with a garden and parking. Perfect for hiking. The rooms are astoundingly oldy worldly, many with four posters. If I could have given the Rock Inn ten stars I would have had done so without any compunction.XXXXXXXXXX.

Wonderful evening.. we went to the murder mystery event. Meal was fantastic. Staff very helpful. Lovely atmosphere.
The Edgemoor Hotel is a joy...it nestles comfortably into its beautiful wooded surroundings...entering through the front door I catch a hint of the latest rich, traditional food that makes eating there so mouthwatering. It's a nice feeling here...everyone who works at this amiable establishment greets you warmly and expects to enjoy helping you, the welcome guest...

The room was immaculate and bed super comfortable. The breakfast was perfect with a good choice of cereal and fresh fruit plus a full English, cooked with local produce. Tina and Clive were perfect hosts and made us feel very welcome. Great location for anyone wishing to visit Dartmoor and the surrounding area. Highly recommended
If you would like something truly different you might like to have a look at Airbnb. These are mostly B and Bs provided by people on a very informal basis. The may have a spare room, a yurt, a cottage or a barge with space they can receive guests for a night or a month! The website is highly professional. You can really see what you are going to get. Very well worth a look. Airbnb also show 'conventional' B&Bs as well. Enjoy!
3 Pound Cottages Lustleigh Dartmoor National Park, Lustleigh, Newton Abbot TQ13 9TJ, UK – 01303 239843
My wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this property just prior to Christmas 2017. Having received extensive information from the property owners, our journey into the quaint village of Lustleigh was straightforward and stress-free. Equally, our arrival was well described, with regards to access to the property, local amenities, parking and so on. Having gained access to the property, albeit in the cover of darkness, we were greeted by an 80's style rotary telephone in the hallway, which immediately took me back to visits to my nan's house during my primary school years. Moving into the lounge/dining area we found the wood burner with a generous allocation of logs and kindling, plus an abundance of information regarding local shops, attractions and walking routes. The living room area is a great example of the careful balance of original features and modern touches, with the original granite staircase leading up from the left side of the fireplace, and a modern wooden staircase from the hallway on the right. Once upstairs, you will find the three sleeping areas, beautifully decorated and furnished with luxurious bedding. In the well equipped kitchen downstairs, as well as all the crockery, pots, pans and utensils you might need to cook your own meals, there was also a traditional wicker hamper, loaded with a bottle of fizz, local scrumpy and other treats and goodies to enjoy during your stay. If home cooking isn't your thing, the local tea room and charming village pub are literally just a stone's throw away. If you do eventually prise yourself away from the comfort of the cottage, you are blessed with the most beautiful unspoilt countryside right on your doorstep. The narrow streets, winding paths and thatched properties of Wreyland are accessible immediately to your left as you leave the cottage, with footpaths leading from the area to babbling brooks, mossy covered boulder fields and parts of the nearby disused railway line. Venturing further afield will take you to the rocky outcrops of Haytor, the well-visited tourist attraction of Canonteign Falls or maybe (if the budget allows) a distinguished afternoon tea at Gidleigh Park (which I can highly recommend). We would not hesitate to visit Three Pound Cottage again, owing to the fantastic experience we both had there - highly recommended!
This was our second stay at the idyllic cottage in this equally idyllic village. This extremely pretty cottage with it's quintessentially English thatched roof is full of modern comforts inside, including underfloor heating, a log burner and all the modern Wifi and communications so necessary in this day and age. If you can bear to leave this cosy, intimate environment, the Cleave pub is just a two minute stroll away and this year the food was very good there. During the day, the Cleave itself offers a variety of walks ranging from very gentle to quite demanding with outstanding views and a feast of woodland wildlife all on your doorstep. Lustleigh is a very friendly, extremely pretty village with a buzz about it - the residents just stop to chat to you which is great. The cottage is maintained to an extremely high standard, is very spacious without losing it's centuries old charm. The owners are very keen to make sure nothing goes wrong and provide lots of information about walks and the surrounding area. I would definitely recommend this as somewhere to stay.

Great location directly on the moor. We stayed in The Hayloft, really well equipped and nicely set out. A lovely view from the dining table all the way to the sea on clear days. You can walk up to Haytor visitor centre within minutes, the rock, however, can take a little longer. Would throughly recommend and hope to return.

A quiet secluded campsite off of the main road. A long drop toilet and a hot shower what more can you ask? The owner also supplies firepits and will supply logs on request. Magic site.
My son (5 3/4) spent 3 nights on the site and had a wonderful time. Hot shower, fire stand and plenty of logs to burn. I have camped at various sites all over UK and this was perfect for some wild camping. Plenty of space, wild flower area with lots of grasshoppers and crickets to find. A wood area to play in was also fun. Sarah came and met us and was helpful and informative. My son had many firsts for him bit more surprisingly I did too...sat having breakfast had a little Wren sit 3 feet away having his cricket based breakfast. As a keen bird watcher it was a sight that I will remember from this trip. I will most certainly recommend and be returning. Thank you 5 watches farm. 🖒
