I have had so many brilliant evenings with friends and family eating in here. The food is always presented well and tastes absolutely wonderful. The service is also very good aswell.
Fantastic food. Always on time if i pick up. Extremely friendly & accommodate superbly for vegans too. A bit pricey but worth it with very large portions.

Nothing to complain about. Food was good. Would I return? In 6 months, yes. Why? Busy refurbishing and all the old character is gone with only a vast open space remaining. I wish the new owners all the very best. They have one of the best locations in the UK on their doorstep so will never be short of custom. Please just put some character back so that your locals can also still enjoy your premises.
Lovely friendly place. Staff are a credit and dog friendly too! We called in on the way back from a climbing morning and were welcomed in with a smile despite two kids and two dogs. Food excellent (not cheap). Couldn't fault it at all well worth a stop. Car park a little small and some work being done but excellent all the same.

Visited The Cleave just before 6pm on a bank holiday Saturday. In a tiny village in the middle of nowhere, the pub is old and nothing fancy. The food is simple pub fayre but good quality and well presented at a reasonable price. The staff were most welcoming too. We're pleased we stopped there. Give it a try if in the area.
This traditional village pub with a picturesque beer garden is a friendly and comfortable stop off if you are in Lustleigh. With a wonderful food menu, it's a fantastic place to sojourn for a few hours. Our most recent visit was with our small baby on a hot sunny day, we were able to find plenty of cool spaces were able to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

Yvonne was amazing! Food is delicious great choice of cider. 5 star service matched with 5 star smiles from the staff. Dog friendly.
Good beer, good food reasonably priced (Oct 2017) Update 21/04/2018 New management now evident.....lunchtime meal for 4 (2 x pastie and chips, 1 panini, 1 mixed meat platter) was slow to arrive and only just adequate in quality. Reasonable prices though. Room for improvement.

Nice small local style pub with a great friendly atmosphere. The food is usual pub fair, but well cooked and very tasty. I would especially reccomend the stake which was so tender and we'll cooked that iflt could have been cut with a butter knife. The selection of drinks is great and they serve local ales and local gin. There is a parking area but only space for about 5 spaces.
Sunday lunch is one of the best you will find anywhere on the moor. Owners are friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a visit.
